Through legislation, litigation, and public education, The Trevor Project is the leading advocate for the mental health of LGBTQ young people in America today. This includes advocating for preventative and intervention efforts at the federal, state, and local level to address factors that place them at a significantly higher risk of suicide. Among their many goals is: ending conversion therapy, collecting LGBTQ-inclusive data, creating safe and affirming schools, supporting young trans people, increasing access to specialized crisis care, and advocating for non-police crisis intervention.
